London Borough of Bexley

Belvedere is situated within one of London’s most affordable boroughs, Bexley. The borough has some excellent schools and an abundance of green spaces, making it a great place for families. Belvedere itself is only a 30 minute journey from Belvedere to London Bridge, making it a popular option for commuters too. The area, consisting largely Victorian and Edwardian homes, combines historic architecture and a multicultural population.

  • Crossness Pumping station is located in lower Belvedere, next to the River Thames. A restored Victorian masterpiece of industrial engineering and architecture featuring spectacular ornamental ironwork.
Look out for

Lesnes Abbey - ruins of a former abbey in Abbey Wood. A virtually undiscovered gem in South East London, with an adjacent woods which are a local nature reserve.

Belvedere Beach - amazing beach themed play area, complete with pier, fishing boat and a pirate treasure chest.

Belvedere is stocked with many local shops including Sainsbury’s Local, Co-op, various food outlets and local businesses.

The Morgan Pub – The Morgan in Belvedere is all about family. Alongside their renowned carvery, there are burgers, grills, tasty sides, and super sharers.

Belvedere Tandoori – Indian, Asian, Balti, Bangladeshi cuisine by Head Chef, Nurul, who opened one of the first Indian restaurants in the South East of England in the 60's.

The Victoria – A friendly and welcoming pub in belvedere showing all live sports, beer garden which is a great sun trap, live entertainment, and free wifi.

Royal Standard – Located in the heart of the Village the Royal Standard is your friendly local. Began life as a pub in 1862 and was completely re-built in 1929 as a three storied gable fronted building with mock-tudor arched doorway. To the rear is a conservatory for families. There are televisions which show live sport and a pool table.

The Morgan Pub – Choose from a superb selection of cask ales from Marston’s five breweries, or explore the wine list featuring choices from the distinguished Rothschild wineries.

The Fox Pub – An essential part of the village, with entertainment including live music, live SKY & BTSport, and dart & poker nights.

This small Bexley borough town offers everything in the housing market from the Victorian era, 1930’s three bedroom semi-detached family homes and new build developments which have increased of off the back of the proposed cross rail links at Abbey Wood.

Transport

Belvedere railway station, opened in 1859, is in Lower Belvedere and is served by the North Kent Line which runs from London Cannon Street to Dartford/Gravesend/Gillingham (Kent). Belvedere also benefits from the DLR connection at nearby Woolwich, and will benefit further when the Elizabeth Line comes to the new Crossrail station at Abbey Wood in late 2021.

Belvedere is served by several Transport for London Bus services connecting it with areas including Thamesmead, Erith, Bexleyheath, Woolwich and Sidcup.
