Bromley is bordered by Shortlands, Sundridge Park, Bromley Common, and Chatterton Village. It has great transport links to central London and a large shopping centre along with many food and drink options, making it a popular place to live.

 

Did you know?
  • Bromley was an important coaching stop on the way from London to Hastings.
  • H. G. Wells, the famous English writer over many genres, was born in Bromley in 1866.
  • Another Author, Enid Blyton, also lived in Bromley. Famous for writing well-known children's books such as the Secret Seven and Famous Five stories, a historical blue plaque has been erected on her former home on Shortlands Road.
  • David Bowie lived in Bromley for much of his childhood, living on Plaistow Grove and attending Burnt Ash Primary School and Bromley Technical High School in 1953.

The Ravensbourne Morris Men – Founded in 1947 as a post-war revival team following an inaugural meeting at the then Jean's Café, which was located opposite Bromley South Station

 

Shopping

The Glades is a large shopping centre in the centre of Bromley, hosting 135 stores including high street favourites such as Boots, H&M, New Look, Zara, and more. Bromley High Street is partly pedestrianised and has many shops like Moss Bros, Primark, and WHSmiths. Bromley also has a market on selected days selling fruit and vegetables, cakes and pastries, clothes, and cooked food.

Properties

Housing in the area is a mixture of Victorian, 1930s, 1960s and modern properties. There is a large mixture of flats, houses and large detached family homes. Sought after areas include Bromley 'Old Town' in Bromley North, Chatterton Village, Palace Estate, and Hayesford Park Estate.

Bromley South to London Victoria in 16 minutes

Bromley South & Shortlands to London Blackfriars in 36 minutes

Bromley North to Grove Park in 5 minutes (Grove park has fast connections to Central London)

 

Other Transport

Other transport in the area includes many buses and night buses to the surrounding areas, as well as good access to the M25.
