The Land & Strategic Property Division have recently completed the sale of the former Knotley School in Pampisford Road on behalf of Barnardos.
The premises, which occupies a prime 2 acre site in South Croydon, was closed several years ago, and was subsequently run as a hostel for a short time.
Our marketing generated interest from local and national developers, but none could match the offer tabled by Greenacre Homes. With the able assistance of Horace Architects, Greenacre conceived a mixed scheme comprising 17 houses and 40 flats, and introduced Wandle Housing Association with a view to developing the entire project for Affordable Housing.
Whilst the planning process proved slow and involved, Greenacre ultimately succeeded in securing both Officer and Committee support, and were delighted to see permission granted at local level at the first time of asking.
Diligently, Greenacre had negotiated the terms of the Section 106 legal agreement simultaneously to the planning application, and therefore completion was able to take place shortly after permission was granted.
