London Borough of Lewisham
Lee is in the London Borough of Lewisham, being bordered by Hither Green, Lewisham, Grove Park, Blackheath, and Eltham. A multi-million pound regeneration programme is planned in the heart of Lee at Lee Green crossroads shopping area with a new supermarket, new shops, restaurants, offices, and parking.
Did you know?
- Two public houses, The Old Tigers Head and The New Tigers Head were important features of Lee Green crossroads. Some claim The Old Tigers Head was always the newer of the two. Sadly the New Tigers Head called last orders for the final time in 2006 and only the Old Tigers Head remains open.
Look out for
Manor House Gardens – A public park and gardens, with an ornamental pond situated in Lee. It’s great for a day out with the kids feeding the ducks or playing in the playground
Sutcliffe Park – This park features a Sports Centre owned by Better Leisure, which has a skate park, climbing wall, athletics track, and soft play area. Sutcliffe park is rich in wildlife and the river Quaggy meanders through the park
David Lloyd Leisure Centre – This popular leisure centre features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym, tennis courts, kids holiday club, and a creche service making it a great option for families
Shopping
As well as the local parades of shops in Lee, a wide range of High Street shops and a major a shopping precinct can be found in Lewisham town centre. Blackheath Village is also close by and features a number of independent shops and boutiques. Bluewater is only a 20 minutes drive along the A2.
