Spending time in the great outdoors has been linked to having a great effect on our health, so we can’t keep our favourite spots a secret. Oxleas Wood, Castle Wood, and Jack Wood

These ancient woods consist of 130 hectares of woodland and meadows. Walk just a 100m into the woods and it’s hard to believe you are in London. The green chain walk runs through the woods, providing a beautiful and calming place for anything from a short dog walk, to a multi-hour trek.

At the top of Oxleas Meadow is the hugely popular cafe, a local meeting point with incredible views over South East London and Kent.

Castle wood is home to Severndroog Castle, built in 1784 as a memorial to Sir William James by his wife. At certain times of the year, you can access the viewing platform at the top, one of the highest points in London.
